When you create an account, we ask for your email address, phone number and password. Your email or phone number and password let you log in on the website and app. Passwords are stored as secure hashes, rather than readable passwords.

Your chess progress

We store your completed lessons, puzzles and mini-games, practice statistics, and current game so you can continue using the same account on the website and app. Account creation dates and save timestamps help us manage your account and resolve sync problems.

Information on your device

The website uses essential sign-in cookies. The app stores a sign-in token using the device's secure storage. Both versions can keep a recovery copy of your practice data. Past game history and touch or voice preferences can remain on the device for your account.

Optional lesson narration uses device speech services. Some voices may need to be downloaded. The app does not request microphone, camera, contacts or location access.

How we use and protect information

• To create your account, authenticate you and save your progress.
• To help with account and technical support.
• To protect accounts and limit abusive requests. Security systems process request information, including network addresses and login identifiers.

Access to account information is restricted to authorized staff and the service systems needed to operate Brolly Chess. Information is stored in our server database and processed by our hosting infrastructure. We do not sell account information or use it for advertising. The current app does not include advertising or a product analytics SDK.

Keeping and deleting data

Your account and saved progress remain available while your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and its associated data. See our account deletion page for the request steps, data covered, and device copies.

If information needs to be retained for security or a legal obligation, the team will explain the reason and applicable retention period when handling your request.

Children and families

Brolly Chess is a learning app used by younger players as well as adults. A parent or guardian can contact us about a child's account, its information or a deletion request. Please avoid including unnecessary personal details in a support message.
